Our Low Profile Wet UFH Overlay kits are premade so you don’t have to work out the individual components needed for your installation. Rayotec’s Low Profile Overlay kit includes our thinnest overlay panels which are manufactured from high density XPS 300kPa which is thermally insulated, waterproof and covered with a reinforced cement coating and is designed to be installed onto an exisiting subfloor to make retrofitting easier, it can then covered by a flexible latex self levelling compound for a smooth finish to lay your final flooring onto. They can operate as a primary heat source depending on heat loss of the room and can work with all types of floor coverings including carpet, vinyl, laminate, engineered wood and tiles. At only 18mm thick this is our lowest profile overlay system which in turn means that your overall build up will be lower. This kit is ideal for someone who is trying to keep within limited boundaries in existing rooms e.g low ceilings or matching height with flooring of other rooms. These kits are designed for use in single zones so if you require them to be split into multiple zones you will need to purchase an Actuator and a thermostat per zone as well as a wiring centre. Unlike many of our competitors all of our Kits include our Premium Brass Nickel manifolds, Grundfos pumps and Pert-Al-Pert pipe to ensure you have the best materials available. About our Overlay Boards The panels are ideal for fitting onto solid floors i.e. concrete or screed and also suspended timber floors that have been boarded with suitable floor boarding. The panels are easy to cut and install, and should be laid with the panel joints staggered in a brick bond style. The routed channels are compatible with most flexible low-pressure underfloor heating pipes. The panels are designed for use over existing floors providing a low height build up, insulated floor. The panels are available for use with 16mm pipes with centres at 150mm. At the end of each panel is a series of pre formed return loops and 3 x routed channels which allow flexibility and versatility for multiple heated zones to be fitted. The aluminium core provides strength and importantly acts as a barrier to stop oxygen getting into the system which can cause premature wear to the manifold. The aluminium layer also makes the pipe form-stable, making it very easy to work with by eliminating spring back for easier installation. The majority of customers will go for the 16 x 2mm pipe as this is suitable most installations including under screed and should also be used in our 22mm overlay boards (retrofits) and Aluminium spreader plates (suspended floors). the 12 x 1.6mm should be used when looking to achieve the lowest profile retrofits in combination with our 18mm overlay boards.
